Spring Break 2012

Sadie was so excited to see the size of her amethyst.

We were so impressed how slowly Maggie actually searched and looked!

The worker was telling the kids all about the precious stones they found.

We had planned to go on a family trek. We were going to hike in the 3 miles and then set up camp. Unfortunately for us, the wildfires that spread across West Virginia caused a no fire zone for our area. It was still too cold in the area to camp without fires. We came up with a plan B. We took a couple of days and went to some of our favorite places. Maggie and Sadie requested the Barter Theater. It was super fun. We saw Rudyard Kipling's short stories written for his granddaughter. We were able to go Rock Mining in North Carolina. Logan loves watching Gold Rush. (we don't let him anymore, too much language)So he really wanted to have the chance to mine. All the kids thought it was AWESOME! They found lots of precious stones, and now they are saving to get them polished! We went hiking Stone Mountain and to see the water falls. We had a lot of fun!
