Here is a picture of our cart. It held up pretty well, yes our handle was a shovel. On the way out, the wheel bent and of course the rangers were behind us and couldn't get past us until we fixed it! Silliness!!
Our famous tent, bigger than some houses, but the best part is the wood stove inside which keep us very warm at nights and during the rain!
This is an unbelievable stick that Sadie found on our trek in. She used her imagination and thought it was her car, made the sounds for it and all...after 5 miles this stick made it in the truck and to the back yard. It is AMAZING to me what nature does to kids, it takes away all the fighting, selfishness, and allows them to be creative listen to God's Creations and remember what life truly is all about. I read a wonderful book on this if you are interested it is called "The last Child in the Woods". Nature deficit disorder is a term coined by Richard Louv in his 2005 book, which refers to the alleged trend that children are spending less time outdoors, resulting in a wide range of behavioral problems.Check it out, I think every parent should own it!
Sadie is so excited that Daddy's helped her catch a fish. He hooked it and she reeled it in.
Logan has fishing in his blood. He is amazing a true natural.
Maggie is learning to slow down and enjoy this hobby as well. She does get a little impatient, but does very well when she relaxes.
Daddy is teaching Maggie how to bait a hook, she is watching intently.
Maggie was thrilled to have a french braid. I had never tried it before, she doesn't even like me to put it in a ponytail. She did ask for one and needless to say was so excited when it was finished, despite the pain. I had to take a picture so that she could see what it looked like.It has been a while...I was out of practice.
Maggie picked up the hobby of log rolling. She has seen it on "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", and wanted to try. She did a great job, but like everyone, ended up falling off!
